Creative Happenings

So many creative thoughts rushing around in my brain at the moment, I think its time to start branching out and expanding my love for textiles and start making beautiful stuff with my yarns instead of having them hang from the rack.   But what? Hmm I have made a couple of Textile Handspun ART Yarn Necklace Cowls recently from my Rainbow Unicorn Beehive I made a few months back - 18.5mic Merino & Cashmere plied with silk.   LOVE Making these they are quick and easy and look AMAZING!!! I am also looking at getting into making some amazing textile bangles and bracelets also from very old spun yarns from 2012 when I first started making art yarns :)  Thought this Core Spun ART Yarn would make interesting and unique bangles & necklaces :)  Also looking into starting up Crocheting again soon and making some ART Yarn and Luxury Yarn (handspun and commercial) infinity cowls ready for winter this year. Just like these I may even alter the pattern

All Things Magical

All things Magical when it comes to creating beautiful color and textured fiber.  I just LOVE creating beautiful carded mini swirls (tops/roving) off of my own drum carder, Blending kid Mohair to add some texture, using multiple different types of fiber into 1 skein.  And then making something truly breath taking. To describe the way these feel they are as light as clouds they are soo soft they are going to be magical to spin with.  Finished Product all carded up and made into ready to spin Mini Swirls :) The ingredients in these are:  and Tencel.

Homemade Carded Fibers For Sale

All my Carded fibers are made from luxury fiber mixes - they are all uber soft and lofty carded on my Ashford super fine drum carder. I prefer microns of 16mic - 18.5mic in Merino as my base fibers, then mix that with up to 8 fiber breeds.  Mixing together bright, rich natural colored silks such as muga and red eri silk with beautiful bright handdyed colors.  I do dye my own fibers sometimes but also buy from known Australian indigo dyers that I trust and know create stunning colored tops.  Sometime the fiber comes a little mattered which I then pick all matting and unwanted junk from the fiber before putting it through the drum carder and then the fun really begins! That's when I make the magic happen and with endless supplies of sparkle, embellishments and silks ANY THING can happen.   $18 - $35.00 per bag  plus $8.55 combined postage up to 500g.
